is it possible to get multiple receivers that act independently of each other?

If I disconnect the Directv hdmi cable from the LG tv, the streaming apps, Netflix/Prime/Hulu work fine. If the Directv cable is connected to the tv, streaming apps quit within 1-3 seconds.
