U-verse TV Equipment

I get the U-verse signal is lost message, but if I Go up or down one channel, Things work great - for one minute and then the picture freezes and sound goes away. Have tried all the cable connections, even switched the receiver with the one from another tv in the house, To no avail. Ideas?

I received a new VIP2500 wireless receiver to replace an older model receiver. I tried numerous times following the steps. Still no luck.

Replacement wireless receiver not completing setup. Said connected, I hit option to update firmware and been on U-verse screen with spinning circle on bottom right for over an hour, I moved it right next to WAP same thing for last hour.

As noted in title, the S30 remote I have now has the volume buttons reversed. If I press up, volume goes down. If I press down, volume goes up. All other buttons work exactly like they should.
