Watching DIRECTV STREAM

When I had U-verse, if I started to record a show that was on already for 10 minutes, I could push record and the whole show would record even the 10 minutes I missed. I'm seeing this doesn't work for DTV Stream with my Roku device.  Is this because I'm not using DTVs remote?  Im not real

Whenever I stream from my computer, even when I close the screen I cannot watch on my Roku. It says I've reached streaming capacity. I've even tried disconnecting my computer from the internet and relaunching the app on Roku but I continue to get the message. How do I STOP a stream on the website?
