Watching DIRECTV

I am having the hardest time connecting my internet to directv via ethernet cable. I get the wireless just fine, however many times on demand and playback are very choppy and unwatchable.  I can't even get the wireless symbol removed, so its obviously still connecting thru that route.  Se

When I’m finished watching a recording and delete it, it still shows in my library. When I try to completely delete it, it locks up my control while it spinning trying to delete it. I have to turn off the tv for 15 minutes before I get back to regular programming. Why does this happen?
