Watching DIRECTV

I have direct TV satellite, samsung smart TV, and for many months/years channel 200 has 6 news channels 'NEWSMIX', and the TV controller allowed me to move between them and hear that one station, -and a blue box surrounded the picture out of 6 that provides the sound. Now it no longer allows me to

thought I had a workaround use ESPN plus. But ESPN Disney does not recognize DIRECTV as a cable provider right now so no cable provider no college football. It is a no go way to watch football. Do not go that direction.

Some recorded (but not all) programs cannot be fast-forwarded; I do NOT like having to sit through all the stupid commercials. This is a relatively recent problem.  What is going on?

If I subscribe to Peacock on Direct tv streaming, how do I find it. Is there a channel number?
