I changed out my tv and hooked up to HDMI 1, then HDMI 2. the tv comes on for a few seconds then shuts off. both the TV and the Cable box are both on.  how do I get it to stay on?

I've tried all the codes from westinghouse/white westinghouse and sony (just for fun). I still couldn't set up the directv remote control (RC65) to work out the volume of my new Westinghouse LD-4655VX. Does anybody know another code to try?
