My Yamaha sound bar not working on TV

Do I have to do anything special to get the box and remote when I sign up for DirecTV Streaming? Or is it automatically shipped?  I realize that many may use a smart TV but I want the box and the voice remote.

If I sign up for the streaming service, is the box and remote something I have to purchase, or are they leased from DirecTV with an added monthly charge? My dad has difficulty using buttons on the remote. He wants to be able to press the microphone button and say things like “Fox News”, or “CBS”, or “ABC”…. Will this work if I am using the DirecTV box and associated remote?
