Streaming Setup & Equipment

I just subscribed to DirecTV Stream and loaded the app on my Samsung smart tv. The problem is the Samsung remote does not do a good job of navigating the app. Example, the guide button doesn't bring up the guide, etc.

I moved from Uverse to DTV stream a few months ago and was given the Gemini Air dongle. I like the interface and remote better than the app, so I'd like to keep using them.  And I like the remote as well, but my problem is it's not playing well with my Samsung tv/soundbar setup.  Sometime

I signed up for Stream BYOD and when I call to purchase the Gemini Air they say I can't purchase it from Direct TV. This makes no sense at all.

Why isn't my surround sound not working with Direct TV Streaming? I had no problem with U-Verse. I have a Yamaha V-670 Receiver.

I just bought a new Samsung TV and use an optical cable to hookup my Bose sound system. Every few minutes the sound stops working for a few seconds then comes back on. Frustrating. I am an I.T. guy and have tried all the "first steps" of changing cables, testing connections, etc. What is the issue?
