Sony soundbar not working with Gemini

The Gemini remote does not control audio levels on my Sony soundbar. Supposedly the soundbar is paired. The Sony remote works. I went though set up several times. The old DirectTV satellite remote worked with the soundbar. Any help is appreciated.

Fast forward needs major upgrade

Why new customers get a better overall rate than existing customers
