Streaming Setup & Equipment

I am trying to use the AT&T remote to control my Samsung TV and my Denon AVR S540BT receiver. It controls everything fine except it will not turn on the power to the Denon. I will turn it off and it controls the volume up and down but once it turns the unit off it will not turn it back on.
