Watching DIRECTV

On the old app, I can download shows and watch on the plane while traveling. On the new app, this feature is no longer possible. Does anybody know a way I can watch my recorded shows offline on the new app? Thanks. 

The 'standoff' that has resulted in my inability to view NBC and Fox stations is going to cause me to cancel my Direct TV.  Don't know if anyone cares, but wanted to give them the courtesy of knowing.
