connecting vcr to directv with mini genie

Will I need the main Direct TV box to set up service in my new home. I will not occupy the home for a week, after the install can I take the main box back to the home I'm in for the next week?

I have a pretty old system it looks like an AT-9 dish and two H24 Receivers. I've had the service tech out here a couple of times and he's recommended I upgrade my system. Please correct me if I'm am overlooking something, but it looks like I have to connect with RCA cables. I'm confused...I thought RCA cables were analog, so why does it say Digi

Bought a 55" U8 Hisense TV. OTHER TVs in the house work with the Direct TV receiver we have. Hisense sound cuts out on almost ALL HD channels, but plays fine on ALL non-HD channels. Sound blips in only about 5% of the time on the HD channels. Any suggestions? Might the receiver just be out of date?

I installed the new modem they sent to replace my old modem/router. Now, my computer sees the internet, my phone sees it, but not the Direct TV.

On my DVR receiver, the guide keeps popping up randomly. it's not a functional guide, all it does is obstruct the view. the only way to get it to go away is to bring up the actual guide and exit. but it comes back a few minutes later. what can i do to fix this?

Is the Gemini remote supposed to work the genie receiver as well?

Concerning a new install, I understand there is a 24 hour window for canceling. Is there any kind of charge for the install and then... uninstall if one is not satisfied?
