DIRECTV STREAM Setup & Equipment

My dad has difficulty using buttons on the remote. He wants to be able to press the microphone button and say things like “Fox News”, or “CBS”, or “ABC”…. Will this work if I am using the DirecTV box and associated remote?

When programming the remote you can have it turn your soundbar on/off. Apparently that confuses a Roku soundbar, so how do I turn that feature off?

I just subscribed to DirecTV Stream and loaded the app on my Samsung smart tv. The problem is the Samsung remote does not do a good job of navigating the app. Example, the guide button doesn't bring up the guide, etc.
