Streaming Setup & Equipment

on my second TV I cannot get the Direct TV remote to connect with my Vizio Smart TV. I cannot get a Direct TV stream icon to come up. I can watch Direct Stream on it but it will not turn tv on and off.   

I have an LG TV and LG soundplate, but the Gemini will not control the sound. The TV is connected to the soundplate by optical cable. I spent almost an hour on-line with a CS agent going though all of the steps to pair the two with no success.  Is there a solution to making the two work?

My parents are elderly and don't understand streaming service. Is there something through directv that I could get with a remote that would assist them?  We moved and cannot have a dish on the house but want directv.  Trying to get them to log in somewhere is not an option either.

I have two brand new Roku’s and both of them “skip” the audio on EVERY channel of your app. Does not happen on any other app on Roku, only yours. I know a work around it’s to change the output to stereo. This however is not an appropriate fix as I have surround sound and that’s what I expect. Again
