Watching DIRECTV

I have a Directtv genie and a Sony STR-DH820. I cannot get a video signal to my LG smart tv passing through the Sony STR DH820.

I do not like the new set up for Direct TV. How do I get into the menu so I can choose which episode to watch. How do I delete a program without going to the end of the program and choose to delete it? How do we go back to the old format?
