Watching baseball
I'm in the Cincinnati area and Fox sports no longer carries the Reds games. I've tried Ballys app but that is $20 a month. The MLB app has the game blacked out. If there is a channel 640 on DTV, what do I have to do to get it. I just want to watch the reds games on my TV, and should not have to pay more to DTV to do this. By the way, DTV, you told me I might lose TCM as part of the base level I'm on, then if I do you will lose me. You keep asking for more money and giving me less to watch. Just saying, but for now just need help to get the baseball games.

Hi, @nabuch. We're sorry if you can't watch the Reds games. Due to broadcasting restrictions, some events could be blacked out. Depending on your market, it may be on another channel. Visit sports.directv.com for more info about where you might find your game. DIRECTV regularly makes changes to plans and pricing across our video products. The email includes an invitation to opt-in and continue receiving TCM Channel. Then, you'll continue to receive these channels at no additional charge after 4/29/2024, up to 12/31/2024. Need help? Send us a DM. Ara, DIRECTV Community Specialist

@nabuch
For out-of-market games, you use MLB Extra Innings. In-market games get a little complicated because of how the MLB has everything arranged.
For in-market:
First place to check is your Regional Sports Network (RSN). If a local channel got the rights to a game, then you watch it there instead. If you are in Choice or higher you get your in-market RSNs included. Below Choice you can add on the Sports Pack. (note: Sports Pack though includes other RSNs does NOT get around blackout rules. So it is not a way to avoid getting the MLB Extra Innings for out-of-market games).
This changes for weekend games. FOX has certain rights for afternoon games on Saturday and ESPN has same rights for Sunday night games.
And MLB sold rights to some games to Apple in a 7 year deal.
TV providers (not just DirecTV) have no say in blackout rules. So you watch the games where MLB has permitted you to do so.
