Unable to stream ESPN and ESPN2 via ESPN apps on TV & phone, and ESPN website
I have the DirecTV Stream Entertainment package which includes ESPN & ESPN2 through my apartment complex. Lately I have been unable to watch ESPN & ESPN2, as well as their other channels which are included in the DirecTV Sports Pack, in the ESPN app on my Sony (Google TV) smart TV, ESPN app on my phone, and the ESPN website on my PC browser. When I try to watch ESPN or ESPN2 on my TV I get the error message "This channel is not part of your TV package." On the ESPN app on my phone, I get "0033:The customer is not authorized for the content requested", and on my PC Chrome browser a splash screen with the logos of the teams or some other photo appears, but nothing else happens. I am able to watch ESPN & ESPN2 via my DirecTV Stream box but sometimes want to watch two games at once on different devices.
I called DirecTV Support but the rep told me that it was an ESPN problem and to call them. I called ESPN support but that rep told me it was a problem with DirecTV not linking my account with ESPN and to call DirecTV back. So I called DirecTV back and was told that it was an ESPN problem since it's their app and website and there was nothing more that they could do and to call ESPN back. So I called ESPN back and was told that the "0033: The customer is not authorized for the content requested" message on the phone app showed that it was a problem with DirecTV incorrectly authorizing my account to allow streaming with ESPN and to call DirecTV back. So I gave up smh. The last ESPN rep I spoke to told me that they have been getting a lot of calls from DirecTV customers with a similar complaint as mine. With all of the uninstalling/reinstalling the app and logout/login each of the reps had me do over and over, I spent well over an hour on the phone.
Has anyone else had a similar problem streaming ESPN and ESPN2 on the ESPN tv and phone apps and their website, and how were you able to resolve it?
