TV turning on by itself

i am having a similar problem with my Directv gemini in that after I turn off the TV and Directv with the off button on the DIRECTV remote, the TV turns on about 15 seconds later showing no Source. This wasn’t happening over the last four months and all of a sudden just started happening on this particular TV.

What can I do so I don’t need two Remotes

Sorry to hear about the issue with the TV not properly turning off, @richpac58. Here are some helpful troubleshooting tips:

1. Please check the cabling for any loose connections, and unplug & re-plug the HDMI cable. You can also try using a different HDMI port on your TV.

2. Check if your setup is properly configured to turn both devices off:

- Press the Home button on your Gemini remote.
- Go to Settings > System.
- Select Remote & Devices, then Program Your Remote.
- Choose your TV manufacturer and follow the prompts to complete the setup. This will allow you to control TV functions (like power and volume) and your DIRECTV device with the same remote.

3. If the issue persists, you can refresh the connection between your remote and the device through the steps below:

- Unpair the remote by pressing and holding the DASH (–) and APPS buttons until the LED blinks blue twice.
- Restart your Gemini device by pressing the red button on the side or unplugging and plugging it back in.
- Pair the remote again by pointing it at the device and holding FAST FORWARD and REWIND together for 2-3 seconds until you see an on-screen confirmation.

here’s my update, and hopefully this fix stays fixed.

I went to settings with the Samsung remote then General then external device manager turned off anynet +( HDMI – CEC).
this did not fix the problem!
then…  I used the DIRECTV remote and went to settings -system remotes and devices then program your remote— and I turned off HDMI – CEC volume control, turned on power off devices and turned off “ask to connect new devices”.
now I can turn the TV off without a turning itself on again.
