DirecTV (the satellite service) can be suspended for up to 6 months in a 12 month period. Must pay balance to full and there is now a $5 "vacation hold" fee. As a note, any recordings will also be unavailable as DVR service would be suspended during tha time. Also prepare for a higher bill when turned back on as will be a partial month plus next month as normal.

There is no pause or suspend. You can just cancel and resubscribe when ever you want to return.

They are not looking to suspend DIRECTV STREAM but DirecTV in order to try the streaming service.
