Paying extra for no ad versions of free streaming apps
How much longer will it take Directv to add this feature ? Xfinity already gives Disney/Hulu for free, and allows the user to pay an extra 8 per month for the ad free version.

We're actively working to enhance the streaming experience with better integration and more flexible options. While we don't have a timeline for an ad-free upgrade, your feedback is valuable and will be shared with our team. Rizza, DIRECTV Community Team

@DIRECTVhelp Just to add to the OP’s inquiry, rather than looking at it as a suggestion or some sort of feature request, perhaps DirecTV should be reminded that the company announced numerous things that were supposed to have happened before this year.
The following is from a Streamable article last summer. The article had just talked about how we were going to get the Disney/Hulu/ESPN ad-supported apps at no additional charge, which has indeed happened and is appreciated. Here’s the next paragraph:
”Similarly, DIRECTV also plans to integrate both HBO Max and Peacock’s ad-supported tiers into a number of different packages later this year. Greer confirmed to The Streamable that in situations where the company is offering complementary access to ad-supported streamers, customers will have the ability to upgrade to the premium tiers of those platforms just by paying the difference.”
In other words, the five apps in question were to be available with the option to upgrade to the ad-free experience, in 2025.
My annual HBO Max renewal is coming up, and I’d like to know if DirecTV is still planning on delivering that app to us. I’m sure there are others who would likewise benefit from an update on this situation so they can plan accordingly.
I like DirecTV Stream and don’t mean to come across as complaining or feeling like I am entitled to these apps, but we were told this was going to happen. If that has changed, could you let us know? Thanks.

dr0719 - Boy am I glad you mentioned this. I have Peacock free through Xfinity. Didn't know I could upgrade to No Ads version. I checked and sure enough for $6 x month more I upgraded to No Ads.
Now I seriously need HULU upgraded. They have way too many ads and they are longer than some other services which for me, makes it unwatchable. Please Directv Stream let us upgrade to No Ads service for a reasonable price. PLEASE.

@Adamhnw Aside from your disappointment regarding the ad-free issue (and I certainly share your frustration that we still don’t have an option we were told we’d have in 2025), you alluded to other problems with your experience. Are there any questions you might have? People here on this forum can be very helpful.

Daily reminder to DirectTV to please please please add add free options to your streaming bundles, I just learned this feature was already talked about and should have been implemented in 2025, How hard is it to talk to other companies and add these options? I litterly had directTV stream, Disney Plus and Myself on a phone call yesterday and it was like the spider man meme of everyone pointing to each other. Needless to say DirectTV would win a lot of hearts if they implemented these options ASAP.
