Older Samsung TV lag with Gemini???

I finally left Comcast/Xfinity. Being baby boomers and not wanting to change kept us with the price increases etc. But when it recently was going from $296 to $356 a month was the last straw. Kinetic ran fiber in my area months ago and neighbors switched and love it. They partner with Direct TV. I'm loving it so far!

I'm getting everything I had plus the the new bundle that's coming for 1/2 of what I was paying for the next 2 years at least. My question is the smart tv in bedroom Sony (5yrs) and the sons Samsung (1yr) are great. But the main Samsung (8yrs) in Ir lags and needs to be shut off and on. Going to call tech support later...but I was looking at 75 in tvs at local store on sale for $450. Less then any of the previous. When Kinectic guy was hear setting router for best place I told him the TV in Ir is has always been slower with cable and was it router location and he said no it was the TV. Soooo my ? is (finally) what brand tv is best if I choose to buy a new one? But I was also told as long as it has a hdmi port and with and external  device  it's not tv 🤦‍♀️ and the connection🤷‍♀️

I would obtain an external streaming device (Chromecast, FireTV Stick, AppleTV, etc.) that is supported by DIRECTV stream rather than replace a working TV that has trouble running an app.  Quit using the TV's smart function and make it a dumb display of your new streaming device.

Thanks for choosing DIRECTV with your new internet bundle, and we’re glad you’re enjoying the service and savings, @Steelergirl! Since your newer Sony and Samsung TVs are performing well, the issue with the older Samsung TV is likely related to its internal hardware or software which may struggle to process modern streaming apps or handle the demands of newer services.

It's true that Gemini can be installed on any TV as long as it has HDMI port. This external device handles the processing for streaming and on-demand content, More info here: https://www.directv.com/technology/gemini/

You already posted this on Reddit. You aren't going to find anything new here. You have an external device (A Gemini) and the issue is with your Samsung tv's lag. Post this issue on the Samsung website's forum.
