New list button update on Gemini Air
Anybody else notice that the list button on the Gemini Air remote takes you to the Library, which now has icons of the recordings in a grid instead of just a list of them? Or is this the new normal.

Mine is fine now it's direct TV Stream Box what we have. I love having 2 folders and my recordings separate from his.

I just noticed this today. I was wondering if it was just my system. Appears to be the new normal. I like that you can categorize by “all” “movies” or “TV shows.” Still, it will take a little getting used to.

They roll out updates. They tested this a couple of weeks ago for about 8 hours. My box has the list form and my air has the thumbnails. I don't like the thumbnail version and you have to hold down the ok button for like 5 seconds to delete a show then click on a popup after. I do like the filters but those could have been put in a list form as well.

I don't have it yet. Three questions:
1. With thumbnails do you still have FOLDERS or do they all revert to single thumbnails?
2. Can you choose which format you want?
3. Since we only have 9 months to keep recordings, is there any way to sort by date?

3. No date sort yet even though there is A-Z filter. Odd they didn't put date on there as well.

Thank you for responding so fast. Yes it would be helpful because I record everything and my list of recordings is long to be able to sort by date. I was thinking that on DIRECTV satellite you could do that, but I don’t remember.

It's the latest update they did and I am p*ssed. I paid extra money for these boxes for Directv just last week tell me that I own them and that I can throw them out if I want. I don't want to throw them out. I want refund

Don't care for the new format, they need to make an option to enable or disable and go back to the list view, I prefer the list view much better. I also miss the double press to go directly to the upcoming instead of having to go up and scroll over 2.

I feel the same way. I could bring up my list that recorded in order and when I played them back I could fast forward over the commercials. Now it says fast forward not available. I hate this new format. Restore the old one please!!

My system just updated. List button functionality removed. Instead List button on remote opens My library with very large icons. I hate it. Why remove functionality? There was already the option to open my Library.

We also liked the old list system. My non tech savvy wife simply hates it. The NEW Library system is very touchy. Fact being if you linger too long on the graphic for a recorded program. That show or series all of the show's episodes will be deleted. Big monthly price increase has not helped either.

Yes. I went on Vacation the past month and came home to find the new format. I used to be able to have like 10 series recorded and then click on the series I wanted to watch all from one page. Now you have those very large Icons that you have to open see how many recordings. Regardless since we record several series for the family you have to page thru 3 pages of icons and the icons are not always clear. EX. Yellow icon with white lettering , I have to get up closae to the TV to see what the series is. Very frustrating that they did not give you an option since one was working and then a second new version. Called Directv and they told me customer demand wanted this and they will not be going back. Thankfully my contract expires at EOY. Give me some time to check other services like You Tube. Went this way after being a satellite customer for 15 years and wanted the dish gone and save money for same nice service. Time for this old dog to accept there are other steamering services which offer better interface. Sure wish they sent out an email telling us what was going to happen and I would have only updated the spare TV with the new software.
