Guide Consistently Wrong

DirecTV and other TV providers source their guide information from a third party company. It's up to the TV stations and networks to deliver accurate information to the third party. 

Xfinity must have a different third party provider since their guide is correct.

Hi, Linda. Our escalation team has come up with the investigation. We found that the channel is unavailable to DIRECTV via Internet which is why you're not seeing the games. I have been getting them all season, but a few just haven’t been listed in the Guide. They don’t know what they are talking about. This is the worst service, I so regret switching from Xfinity

All but 4 games out of 36 or so haven’t been listed. That is the issue, NOT that the game isn’t airing. They need a new job

I sent screen shots showing the channel, what are they talking about? (Edited per community guidelines). The games are shown and I can watch them the issue is the Guide!

I'm looking to switch to Direct TV because the Xfinity Guide is not accurate enough. In the last 4 years, we get the wrong program recorded, and don't know what is really playing on a given station.   The Series recordings don't always record all the episodes.   Finding the right program and successfully recording them is a time pit.  The question in my mind now is Direct TV's Guide any better than Xfinity?  

All services like DIRECTV and Xfinity use guide providers, a middle-man between all the TV stations and channels.  Their guides will only be as good as the guide providers give them.  In turn, those providers rely on accurate information from the channels themselves, which is largely where these issues originate.

They may use different providers or the same one.  I don't think I'd base my decision to use one or the other on this issue.
