Feature request: Advanced passes
I've had DirecTV for quite a long time (25 years) but it was satellite. Due to a recent move, I decided to switch to DirecTV Stream. I believe that streaming is the way forward.
When I had the satellite package, my DVR was a DirecTV TiVo THR22 (often referred to as "DirecTiVo") so the interface was from TiVo.
One of the features that I loved from TiVo and that I miss now that I have the DirecTV cloud DVR is the "Wishlist" feature. It enabled you to record shows or movies based on specific conditions without knowing in advance when of where they would air.
To me, that's a killer feature for a DVR.
Right now with the cloud DVR, in order to set up the recording of a program:
- You need to know in the first place that it's going to air
- it has to be listed in the guide so you can select it.
I wish there was a feature similar to TiVo's Wishlist (others may call it "advanced pass") in the cloud DVR.

As a former DBS customer I'd like to see a 'keyword' search function add that the DBS DVR's had. You could search with a keyword and have additional filters you could apply to zero in on what you wanted to record.

Sounds interesting. There are a sub-section of users who liked TiVO options. The THR22 was DirecTV's last partnership with them. I hope the new owners of DirecTV are hearing this feedback for possible additions in the future. Hopefully something this simple doesn't have a copyright, license, etc. owned by TiVO to block it.
