Directv Stream & Roku devices - Local Channels not showing and cannot watch recorded shows error 40006-003

For the setup: I have Roku streaming devices (since LG TVs does not have a Directv Stream App), I have Starlink internet and I am using Directv because of being able to get local channels.

The issue: In the last two months (after having the same setup for over 1.5 years and more) I have had times (4 time so far) when the following occurs - the local channels no longer appear on the Guide and I cannot view them (strike 1, the reason why I have it) and when I try to watch recordings that I have on the cloud DVR I am unable to watch them and the error code of 400006-003 appears (strike 2). After a couple to several days, the local channels return and I can watch my recorded shows.

I have called Directv Stream customer service and they are no help. They go by the same script (change password and try again, Uninstall the app and reinstall the app, reboot your router). None of it corrects the issue(s). I only had one time when the service person admitted there was a known issue, but all other times, just service people scratching their heads with no helpful advice.

So I am not sure if this issue is with Directv Stream itself, Directv Stream mixed with Roku, or if Starlink is a factor. But once again, I had the same setup for over 1.5 years and it did not have these issues until the last two months.

It is a waste of my time and Directv's time to call in only for them not being able to fix the issue. I liked Directv Stream originally and would stay with it, but losing the ability to watch local channels and recorded shows days at a time, makes me want to switch to another service. A service that works and customer service who actually cares that I am getting the service I pay for.

Your issue is with Starlink and the changing of the IP address with the service. Know issue with many posts on the he subject. When this occurs the service thinks you are in a different location this no locals or recording from the location.

I thought that could be an issue, but the only thing that makes me hesitate it was working well for 1.5 years up to this point.. Not sure why all of a sudden it changed. But I agree about the changing of the IP. I know sometimes the IP address would be in Colorado, California, Arizona..... But Directv claims that as long as my billing address is in the account, I should be seeing those local channels.

We have this same issue since we started streaming coming up on a year probably. No one can help and we are honestly about to leave. Have you had any luck figuring out how to solve this?? I have clearwave fiber internet.

Directv Stream reached out to me (when I first posted) and "diagnosed" my issue on their end. They claimed my Roku player was not connecting to my router..... They claimed that is why I was not getting local channels or able to view my recorded shows. They advised me to shut down my router and reboot it.

Now my layman's opinion, their reasoning for the issue did not make sense because I can view all other channels (besides local channels and recordings) and the apps through my Roku player. But I did as they suggested. I turned off my router (for 2 minutes) and rebooted it. After the router rebooted and I had internet service once again to my devices, I was able to view my local channels and recordings.  Note: I did a reboot of my router the week prior on my own and it worked for about two days. So when I rebooted by router this time, I was in the frame of mind of we will see how long this will last this time. But to my surprise, it is still working (knock on wood).

Do I believe the reason why it was acting up, it is hard for me to believe since everything else was working, and if my Roku was not communicating with my router I would have had more channel and app issues. A previous customer service rep told me there was an issue (on their end) that they were working on; so if they fixed something and did not tell me, I do not know. But, it is working and I am grateful for it. I was looking to go elsewhere for a streaming service with local channels.

Thank you for confirming that your service is now working properly, @@dandshall2. To recap, you had issues with your DIRECTV Stream app on your ROKU device that there are times that you lose access to local channels, and you are unable to watch your cloud DVR recordings, and you get an error 400006-003. We resynced your account and you refreshed your home internet connection, which resolved the issue. If you need more help, please let us know. 💙 Christian, DIRECTV Community Specialist

I unplugged router today and still no luck. I have logged out and back in. You’d think it would show whatever locals that it is picking up.
If it wasn’t for Bally sports app we would’ve switched. After the baseball season we will probably be switching.
