Commercial added in paid subscription Korean channel

Be aware that unless it is stated otherwise for a given channel, there is no guarantee there will never be commercials. DIRECTV STREAM works as a more traditional TV service delivered by internet, not streaming services that might have a tier that is commercial free.

Getting a local commercial with a premium international channel is odd. But not impossible that local advertisers have paid to be injected in streaming services that aren't allocated to other advertisements. To have no commercial TV will be a great experience, but consider how much higher bills would be if advertisers didn't pick up those costs.

I do not mind having the commercials, but they should “pause” the programs while the commercials is going. However this is not the case. I was watching a singing contest suddenly got interrupted by local commercial, when the commercial is over, I missed the result of the competition because the program was continuously running while commercial was added

Show running in background while commercial plays would not be by design. There is a known issue (with any streaming in general) where resuming show from commercial might have a couple seconds delay which does mean missing a bit of content. Most commonly that happens when returning to a local channel stream, so wonder if commercial is from local if it would cause the same issue.
