Cinemax

So you decided to drop 2 Cinemax channels MovieMax & ThrillerMax without notice to me. I am paying 10.99 a month still not now for 4 channels since I'm not Spanish so I don't watch MaxLatino. This is ridiculous because I watched those channels and now I'm paying the same for 2 less channels out of 6. The price should be cut in half! I'm thinking of cancelling Cinemax now! The fact you cancel 2 channels in a package that had 7 but really 6 for me, since I don't watch the Spanish Cinemax channel, and then you aren't going to adjust the price for that package that now only has 4 channels for me is bad and leaving me mad & upset.

DTV did not remove the channels those channels are no longer available because of Warner Brother who owns Max.  They chose to remove those channels along with some HBO cannels to get people to go over to their streaming service MAX.  This is not just affecting DTV but all TV platforms all across the board.  It would probably cost you about the same amount if not less to subscribe to MAX depending on what package you chose.  If you cannot live without those channels. I would cancel it on DTV and subscribe to MAX as you would end up gaining even more channels than you had before.  But just so you know sometime this year MAX is supposed to be included with certian DTV packages later this year.

We know how frustrating it is to miss your favorite channels, @Sne21154. While MovieMAX and ThrillerMAX have been discontinued by the programmer, the programming will be redistributed across remaining channels and available On Demand.

Thanks for the input, @Tiger593. Rhyan, DIRECTV Community Team

Channels subject to change at any time. If the channel owner discontinues channels, the TV provider (DirecTV, CableOne, Comcast, Dish Network, etc.) can do nothing at that time. All they can do is use that as a point in their next carriage negotiations, or possibly a factor in the next price adjustment (which happens once a year, not every time a channel owner makes a change).

What they said.

I'm not a DirecTV subscriber, but I second the HBO Max idea. You get a TON more stuff for the same price. There's all sorts of Discovery Channel stuff there too from channels like TLC, HGTV and more. You also get Boomerang (classic cartoons) and a lot of classic movies going back almost 100 years.

Since it's all "on demand", you can start the show any time you'd like without having to wait to record it.
