Never said it was an advantage or not. Besides, channel numbers are only available with the DirecTV service and device. Not supported in any other streaming service. Also, not willing to subscribe to DirecTV via Internal just to get a proprietary overpriced device with a service that requires a contract and fees.
Ok, guess I misinterpreted. I feel fortunate that I subscribed to DTV Streaming when the Osprey box was available without contract. Was able to buy a refurb Osprey box for $50 one-time fee. The Osprey remote offers channel numbers as well as other direct access buttons, which I actually do find to be an advantage over other streaming options. It's a shame that DTV no longer offers that plan.
