bad reception

While watching a recorded program in the morning, the program keeps spooling. I have to turn the TV off and try again & again to get the reording to continue.

What do you mean by "spooling"?

Do you have DirecTV (satellite) or DIRECTV STREAM?

Is it just the morning?

What are you using to watch? (model of box or what streaming box)

Are you turning off the TV set or the box/streaming device?

If streaming, have you reset your Gateway (modem/router) and anything in between?

Any error message along with the issue?

Other problems?
