4K Channels on Nvidia Shield TV Pro

I’ve updated to the latest app on all of my Android/Google TV devices and I have the 4K channels, with the exception of the Nvidia Shield. Is this by design or is there a specific video setting that I should use on the Shield?

Hello. 4K channels are not available for the Nvidia Shield TV Pro at the moment, we are working on enhancing the compatibility. Please keep checking the Google Play Store for updates. Juan, DIRECTV Community Specialist

As soon as my DirecTV contract is up I will be moving on if this is not corrected.

Nvidia Shield is the most powerful streaming device and it supports 4K Dolby Vision and HDR10 yet DirecTV stream still doesn't 4K on it?! Every other service provider such as Fubo, YouTubeTV, Netflix, Max, etc all support 4K via the Shield so not sure why DirecTV hasn't made this happen yet :/

this is a travesty for such a popular streaming device.  I suspect Apple and some of the other major streams like Roku have paid DTV or vice versa to have rights to broadcast 4k.  BUT is this really such a big deal as most content is broadcast in 1080 and with the pro or a good tv the upscaling takes care of 4k.  They only broadcast in 4k on a few channels.  All my other streams, Netflix, Amazon, Disney etc. are used through the tv os for SONY and those are 4k.  So is it really such a big deal?
