Upcoming recordings

When I go to the Directv app I can choose and find my recorded programs but cannot see anywhere to find a tab for upcoming recordings

We're here to help, u/tinladie. Your upcoming recordings can be viewed by going to the 'upcoming' tab on the 'My Library' section. If you're still not seeing it, please uninstall and reinstall the DIRECTV app from your device. Have you tried using a different device, and do you get the same error?

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Same as before no upcoming recordings. I have not tried another device. I am camping and the reinstall took two hours so I am not doing that again

Just tried it on android...

selected "my library'

it takes a while before the recordings populate...

on this screen there are only THREE tabs:

  • recordings
  • purchases
  • bookmarks

there is no "upcoming" tab

now on the app, in the upper right of the screen, there are 4 icons

  • magnifying glass (search)
  • box with ripples out (cast to a device)
  • miniature remote control (remote control window)
  • gear (settings)

using the miniature remote, you now get a stylized remote, and hitting LIST it goes off into the weeds, saying "searching..." but never gets beyond that.... as well as the SEARCH on the "remote"

so, DTV help, please try it yourself...  and try some other way... I suspect your documentation is old... (which means wrong to current users)...

I can pick channels, and recordings just fine on my Android devices and also the app on the TV, just no way to see upcoming..

It's the app that does not work... reinstalling it makes no sense if it works somewhat. There is virtually no way to corrupt an app so only one part of it works.. Corruption is not "selective". But you were a good guy and reinstalled so that it is confirmed you have the latest version.

Hopefully the next "official" response is that it has been tried and they acknowledge there is a problem.

For Satellite users, if you use the DTV app:
My Library
 – Access DVR playlist, purchased movies, review saved Bookmarks.

Only your set-top box will know what will be recorded

what you are posting does not list "upcoming recordings"...

Did you read this thread and the title?

Have you tried it yourself?

post a screenshot showing upcoming recordings...

The Upcoming recordings tab is only shown to Stream users, not Satellite users using the app. The article I posted is precisely for Satellite users using the app. The only available options under My Library are: Access DVR playlist, purchased movies, and review saved Bookmarks.

This is the satellite forum.

The "upcoming" not available to satellite users was posted 2 days ago.

There is a completely different streaming forum.

Maybe DTV will figure this out, we all are in agreement, function not available on DTV satellite through app. (funny how over the years, people have been admonished by support that they were in the wrong forum ;-)  )

My question at this point is why the Directv community team person told me to uninstall and reinstall the app and the tab for upcoming recordings would then show up. A lot of time involved in that for nothing
