New My Library menu (Edited per community guidelines)!
I use DTV Stream on Roku and I joined this forum to express my disgust at the HORRIBLE NEW MENU for My Library. I am a big DVR user and this stupidity is making me mad at DTV every day. I thought if enough people complained, they would reverse it - but now I see that Satellite users have been complaining for over 1 year, so DTV is obviously not listening. How discouraging. :(
Just in case anyone from DTV reads this -
1. List View is much easier to read than a Grid View. Grid view is harder on my eyes and the scrolling is clunky. If you want to offer a Grid View, fine - then give users a choice. Arbitrarily deciding and then forcing your customers into this view is annoying and short-sighted. I ditched Hulu over their crappy DVR functionality & have been very happy with DTV, until now. It's very easy to switch to another provider. I was tied to DTV for over 20 years by a satellite dish on my roof, but no more. Your decision will drive away customers.
2. If you must force a Grid View on us - then make it better than this. You have one row of text displayed under each box, and you decide that "Recorded date" is what should be displayed? Are you kidding me? What about the Name of the program? This is not always easy to read in the picture. Wouldn't that be more helpful? No, I have to highlight the box in order for it to display. How stupid! You also no longer display what channel it was recorded from until I actually select the program. (This tells me whether or not it has commercials). Why should I have to go through 3 levels of menus to see information that was previously available at a glance? Who designed this interface? Have they ever used a DVR? Did they actually get any user feedback (especially from people over 40)? I doubt it. And while we're at it - the Press OK to Delete box that pops up, then goes away when you scroll, then pops up again is a constant distraction and very annoying. What was wrong with the little trash can picture that you had previously? It was completely self-explanatory and did not move. With this method, it is much easier to delete something by accident.
In summary - it's not that I don't like change - I just don't like stupidity. This is so poorly designed, it should be pulled back immediately. DirecTV can contact me if interested in more feedback from someone who uses the DVR every day.

We value your input, @MadLee. While we're unable to reinstate the list layout on the DIRECTV App's My Library, your feedback will help us enhance our services in the future. Rhyan, DIRECTV Community Team
