Local Channel Sub Channels
Hi - I am a Dishnetwork customer. I have an OTA and can scan for them and they are added to my channel line up and guide, can record them on the DVR, etc.. Does DirectTV have a similar feature or would you need to switch the input and watch them from the TV tuner directly (and lose the ability to record).
Thanks for any input!

What DVR model do you have? Older models support an off-air tuner accessory.

Hi, @mbeckenbaugh. DIRECTV does have a way to integrate OTA channels and record them on a DVR, but it requires an HR44 or HR54 Genie and a separate accessory called a "Local Channel Connector" (LCC). Without the LCC, your only option would be to use your TV's built-in tuner, which would prevent you from recording the shows with your DIRECTV DVR. Rhyan, DIRECTV Community Team

They are a Dish customer, just checking DirecTV's similar options.
@mbeckenbaugh
Unfortunately DirecTV does not currently have that as a dedicated option.
The Local Channel Connector (LCC) never officially left testing. Was only for the 2nd/3rd generation Genie (HR44/HR54). It is not compatible with DirecTV's current "flagship" model the Genie-2 (HS17).
If you see mention of the AM21, that is only for legacy models.
Would be nice if DirecTV brought back those options. Helps with many sub-channels they don't carry, and sometimes channels in range that are from another viewing market.
