how to setup my dvd recorder to my dvd player with satellite internet on my tv

The DirecTV Stream service uses cloud storage only. Recording to an external DVR is not supported.

Your previous threads about recording mention satellite. So do you still have DirecTV satellite or have you changed providers to DIRECTV STREAM/DirecTV by internet?

Very difficult. Stream devices only have HDMI OUTPUT and your recorder does not have an HDMI INPUT. You would need to convert the HDMI signal to composite RCA (red/white/yellow) to feed into the recorder.

Well, this forum "DirecTV Stream" has nothing to do with the satellite service. DirecTV Stream and DirecTV Satellite are 2 different subscription services.

Connecting your DVD player to your DVD recorder has nothing to do with DTV, most likely you need a composite cable to connect the two then one to the TV to see what is happening.

If you are trying to connect a DirecTV DVR to a non-HDMI device to try and record (like VCR), help may be provided.

However, if you are trying to connect a DVD player to a DVD recorder then you are in the wrong place as that has nothing to do with DirecTV equipment. And unless the DVD is a home movie or such, most have content protection to not allow recording.

 i had it hook up together with my direct tv, but i moved and took it apart and forgot how i had it hooked up. can i get some help? 

i had it hooked up together, but i moved and disconnected everything and now i can't get it reconnected.

yes. i had it hook up all together and working, but like i said i moved and someone helping me took it apart. now i can't get it to work like i had it.

The DVD recorder connects to the DTV receiver most likely with a composite cable(Yellow video Red/White audio) then most likely then a composite cable to the TV.  The player connects to the TV.

that did not work. i have sound but no picture on the dvd player.

How exactly do you have the DVD player connected? List specifically or post a picture if you can.
