DirecTV Satellite service and Apple TV 4K Compatible?
Primary residence has DirecTV with a dish on the roof, one TV.
Vaction home we use DirecTV app and can stream to iPads and iPhones no problem. However, we recently decided to connect an Apple TV 4K to our tv, we downloaded the DirecTV app but it will not work. After we login, a blank screen appears. Tried reinstalling apps, rebooting etc..
QUESTION having satellite service is streaming to another TV via the Apple TV 4K device supposed to work? Or is there an extra package i need?

DirecTV is service by satellite. The DirecTV app is only a secondary perk, so whether at home or away it will have limitations. However, there is no different/extra package for the app as it is just an accessory to whatever service you have.
Apple TV 4K shows in the compatible list. So seems there is an issue between your new device and the app. I would check to see if you can do an update on the device. If you know anyone else with DirecTV and has the same device, ask if they have the same issue. Helps to narrow down if the app or just your personal device is the problem.
