Direct TV Satellite user trying to stream

I am trying to stream to my samsung TV.  I have the Direct TV streaming app installed.  When I log into it using my satellite user ID and password, I get an error code 201 - saying my user ID or password are incorrect.  I have confirmed they are correct by signing into my Direct TV account on my laptop.  Any ideas why I cannot log into the streaming ap on the TV??

There is no DTV streaming app.  There is the DTV app that combined the 2 separate apps.

Make sure you are using the new app that combines DirecTV (satellite) and DIRECTV STREAM (streaming-only) into one app as the old separate ones are no longer supported.

Also check to see if your Samsung TV is on the compatible list first. Though be aware the Samsung TV app is known for being sub-standard to dedicated streaming devices. Plus not all channels and programs are available for streaming from the satellite account.

Thanks for the reply.  I have the correct DirectTV streaming app and the Samsung smart TV is about a year old.  My issue is that I cannot sign in to the streaming ap using my online userID and password.  I can stream on my iphone with the direct tv streaming ap using my userID and password, but not on the Samsung TV.  My TV is on the valid list.

I don’t know if anyone has answered this for you. DIRECTV and DIRECTV stream are two separate things.. I have the same issue. Samsung tvs do not support the DIRECTV (satellite) app. I used to be able to stream when I was using my fire stick or Roku but not with my Samsung smart tv. What you can do is download the app to your phone and cast it or airplay it from your phone to the tv. Basically you have 3 options… 1)  switch to DIRECTV stream, or 2) use either Roku, firestick or Apple TV, to stream it or  3) cast it or airplay it from your phones DIRECTV app.  Hope this helps!

DirecTV and DIRECTV STREAM are different services. However both services use the same app. A couple years or so ago they were using different apps, but finally they discontinued that and made a new app for the two together.

So whether you have DirecTV or DIRECTV STREAM, you are using the same app.

I'm also a satellite customer trying to stream on my Samsung Tablet S8.  My tablet was working with the app but now it won't let me login with correct satellite credentials.  I have the current Directv app on my tablet.  It makes me think this app from Google play store on my tablet is like the Samsung TV app...not working for Satellite customers.  Any help is appreciated!

Is it DIRECTV app or DIRECTV stream app? If it is the DIRECTV app (not direct stream) and was working before I would check and see if you credentials are correct and also see if they have discontinued the app. The app works fine for my iPhone I would think it’s the same for your tablet..
