Watching stuff saved in my library on my computer/laptop

I am travelling in the coming months and I keep seeing it is possible to watch programs I have recorded on my dvr at home. I am trying to figure out how to do that? I keep coming across a bunch of different posts but they keep confusing me. Can someone please walk me through what I need to do to do this? Thank you

DirecTV Stream and DirecTV Satellite are two separate independent services. You can subscribe to both, but your recordings will not transfer from one service to the other.

Sorry, it's not possible with DirecTV satellite equipment. Only the DirecTV Stream service provides that feature.

Unless you're a DirecTV Stream subscriber, your recordings are not saved in the "cloud". They're saved on the DVR hard drive.

ok so I would have to add the streaming service for use on the road. Can that been cancelled after a short period of time? As I said in my initial post I'm going on the road for a short while.

DTV has said they will add streaming from the DVR to the app sometime in the future.

Thanks for your insights, @litzdog911. We appreciate your input. Hi, @Godzilla1987. Recordings from your DVR can't be watched on-the-go since it was stored on your DVR Hard Drive, unlike DIRECTV STREAM where you can access your recordings while traveling. Thanks for choosing DIRECTV. John, DIRECTV Community Specialist.
