Streaming channels are missing, as compared to my satellite listing and the online DIrectv channel guide

Have had Directv Premier (satellite) at this address for almost 2 decades and have dealt with the weather blackouts. Recently replaced a TV with one that has the Google TV system in it, so decided to try Streaming. Downloaded the app and logged in and it works well. What I have noticed, however, is channels are missing from the Streaming Guide, where they show up and can be viewed via the satellite and the online (directv.com) Directv Guide (for streaming) says I should get them.

Missing are, 261 Discovery Life, 267 Earthx TV, 272 Logo, 294 Discovery Family, 303 TeenNick, 314 FMC, 336 MTVC, 537 Starz Encore Classics, 538 Starz Encore Westerns, 539 Starz Encore Suspense, 540 Starz Encore Black, 542 Starz Encore Family, 563 So Yummy, 603 Cowboy Channel, 604 Pursuit Channel, 605 Sportsman Channel and 606 Outdoors Channel.

BTW, after the TV replacement, got a Nvidia Shield TV unit for the other TV (and satellite receiver) and that one is also missing the same channels, so I do not think it is a "redownload the app" problem, unless the app was very recently updated, as the apps are only a couple of months old.

Thanks.

Looks like this was also answered, in a related post, by me, so this thread is finished.

Thanks to all.

DirecTV And DirecTV Stream are 2 different paid subscription services. Yes, you can stream DirecTV satellite service, but that is not the service DirecTV Stream. Both services have variation is channels and subscriptions. You indicated "directv.com" which implies the DirecTV service where "stream.directv.com" is the reference to the DirecTV Stream service.

I am moving the post to the DirecTV forum.

bcbsncjlj, how is the viewing of shows, using the Directv app, on a Google TV, not the Directv Stream? They are being streamed, live, at the same time as the satellite.

If these ARE different, then Directv has not been clear, distinguishing between these different forms of viewing.

Also, I merely indicated directv.com, as one of the sites, to show channel listings, that I believe I should get, when "streaming", but do not.

Not all DTV sat channels can be streamed using the DTV app.

Going by DIRECTV via Internet channel lineup (PDF) (https://www.directv.com/dtvassets/sales/directv/upper_funnel/directv/channel-lineup/DIRECTV-via-Internet-ACQ-Packages-Channel-Lineup.pdf) the channels I posted above ARE streamed, under the plan I have. Some are even streamed , under ALL plans.

Is there inconsistency in what Directv has posted on their website and if so, they what is valid?

Shannon02, as you mentioned "streamed", do you feel my question is a STREAMING question and should be in the Directv Stream forum?

Thanks.

Nope, You have DTV sat service, DTV sat service can't stream all DTV sat channels to the app.  The DTV via internet AKA DTV streaming service is a separate paid subscription so listed channels are not part of the DTV sat subscription.

DirecTv offers 2 services: DirecTV and DirecTV Stream. Within DirecTV you have 2 Options:  DirecTV Satellite and DirecTV via Internet. DirecTV Stream (better known as bring your own device) gas no options. Both service are different subscription products. Credentials are not interchangable. So, whT are you subscribed to?

Shannon02, "Directv via the Internet", is that for Directv provided devices, like the Gemini or can "any" device be used, as in "bring your own device"?

As first stated, have Premier, via the satellites, then recently, got a new TV, whose OS had Google TV. Downloaded the Directv app to it, used my current Directv account login (without any changes by Directv) and get a channel guide (missing some channels) and am able to watch shows.

So which does that sound like, to you? Second part, of the first option?

And given that, what do you think I allowed to watch and record?

Premier is only available with the DirecTV service. There is no package with the DirecTV Stream service. DirecTV options have fees and contracts. DirecTV Stream has no fees or contracts.

Also, DirecTV via Internet is a separate subscription to DirecTV via satellite.

bcbsncjlj, when you say "DirecTV via the Internet", are you referring to "Directv Stream"? There seems to be subtle distinctions here.

No. DirecTV via Internet is only an option under the DirecTV service. It's a way for them to offer satellite service via the internet. Thus, no satellite dish and maintenance.

bcbsncjlj, you have said, "Also, DirecTV via Internet is a separate subscription to DirecTV via satellite." and "DirecTV via Internet is only an option under the DirecTV service.", yet I have not changed my Directv subscription, and ad able to watch, via the Directv app.

And, you stated, "Premier is only available with the DirecTV service. There is no package with the DirecTV Stream service. DirecTV options have fees and contracts. DirecTV Stream has no fees or contracts.", yet there are the "usual" four packages (and prices), shown at the link you provided above here.

There is confusion here.
