NBC on Demand

NBC on Demand was removed from my DTY Guide, the NBC channels Tegna operate were not. NBC is owned by Comcast, why does DTV relationship or contract with Tegna have anything to do with Comcast and NBC on Demand?

Tegna owns the NBC station in your local channel market, and therefore has the ability to remove DIRECTV’s access to it if a contract is not currently in session. The fact that the NBC on Demand was removed but the regular NBC wasn’t could be due to a bug. However, the regular NBC station continues to stay on the Guide so that those who tune to it are aware of the current channel dispute.

DIRECTV must have meant in the case of your local channel market, yes Tegna owns it. Every local channel market will have a different owner, though. In other words, while your local channel market NBC affiliate is owned by Tegna, the New York, NY NBC local channel isn't at all.
