Samsung TV App

Does anyone here own a Samsung 4K TV (2020 model or greater)?  Do the 4K channels appear in the guide for the native TV app?  Looking to upgrade to a Samsung OLED. Thx.

u/ronharri55, if your TV is a manufacturer-certified DIRECTV 4K Ready TV, you should be able to see DIRECTV 4K channels on your guide. Try to update your OS and the DIRECTV App to the latest version. We'll send you a PM to assist you properly. Jairo, DIRECTV Community Specialist

If you have a U-verse or DIRECTV receiver (including the Gemini), you will need to configure your Samsung TV to receive the programming guide from DIRECTV or DIRECTV Stream. To do so:

  1. Open the Main Menu with the Settings or Menu button on your remote.
  2. Go to the Broadcasting tab (this may be in General & Privacy, depending on your model).
  3. Turn ON the Service Provider option, then select Service Provider Info & Settings.
  4. You should have already set up your TV provider when setting up your Samsung TV for the first time. If you skipped it previously, you can rerun it by selecting Set Up Again.
  5. Confirm your ZIP code.
  6. Select the source to which your receiver is connected (including the DIRECTV Gemini).
  7. You will select two service providers: one for the Smart Hub and Search functions, and one for controlling the receiver with the Samsung Smart Remote. First, select the correct TV provider. In our case, the following options are available (we only list those from AT&T and DIRECTV). Be sure not to select the Analog option as all TV broadcasting services are digital.
    1. AT&T U-verse TV - Cable
    2. DIRECTV
    3. DIRECTV Stream (available since 2024)
  8. Now select the service provider to control your receiver with your Smart Remote. Again, while you were setting up your Samsung TV, you got a message saying "All You Need is the Samsung Smart Remote."
    1. DIRECTV
    2. AT&T
  9. A remote test will be performed to ensure that your Smart Remote can control your receiver. If the box is off, turn it on. If the channel up/down buttons work correctly, select Yes. If not, select No to try another configuration. In most cases, the first configuration will work correctly.
  10. Setup is now complete. Select OK to start watching.

Notice that streaming services such as DIRECTV Stream, Hulu + Live TV, Sling, and YouTube TV are now supported on Samsung TVs as of 2024.

OP is talking about the native app that you install from the Samsung app store. Others have reported 4k channels don't show on the Samsung Dtv app.
