New AppleTV 4K can't continuous fast forward or rewind or increase skip speed
I am new to Directv Stream and so far it's been nothing but a headache. I just replaced my old AppleTV HD with a new AppleTV 4k to rule out Apple equipment as the issue. The most frustrating unresolved issues are:
- can't continuously fast forward or rewind
- skip speed doesn't increase with repeated presses
- can't manually extend recording time and "auto extend" doesn't work or isn't available. So far I've been cut off of 3 New Year's bowl games before the game ends.
- record option not available for the Rose Parade
- can't record a single show of a series only will record the whole series
- when setting up a football game to record using the mobile app I am not offered the option to record just one event. I have to choose a team and it will record every game associated with that team.
Does anybody else using Apple TV have any of these issues? Have anybody found an acceptable fix or work around? I don't want to return to satellite but these issues are deal breakers for us. Thank you.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Here are some quick steps that might help.
DIRECTV on Demand offers a feature called "Rewind" that allows customers to watch video on demand (VOD) content within a few minutes after it has been broadcasted and up to 72 hours (3 days) after that. However, you cannot use fast-forward or rewind options on Rewind programs. The program provider, not DIRECTV, controls and maintains the availability of these options. The Auto Extend feature enables the system to automatically prolong the recording in real-time. This means that customers can access the entire recording without manually adding time. After setting the program to record, you can access this option via the Recording Confirmation screen and the More Info screen. Not all content can be recorded due to the content provider's rights.
To select a specific episode in a series, follow these steps:
Use the remote and swipe down on the touchpad to display the drop-down menu with the option to Record.
Swipe right on the touchpad to highlight Record.
Swipe down to select Record Episode and press the touchpad to start recording.
If the series recording is available, the Record Set message displays, and the option to Record Series appears. Swipe the touchpad to the right, moving the blue line under Record Series, then press the touchpad. You will be allowed to record All Episodes or New Episodes. Swipe down on the touchpad to move the blue line under Record Series, and press the touchpad to start recording. A confirmation screen for the series displays.
If you selected New Episodes and no new episodes are airing, you will receive a message saying "No Upcoming Airings. Looks like there's no airing scheduled for this program. Check back later."
The REC turns red, adding the program to the DVR Recording in My Library.
Please note that you can use your remote to record certain sports events. This feature is not available through the DIRECTV app. Veilka, DIRECTV Community Specialist

Same problem here and a completely useless reply from Directvhelp.
And it would help that, when signing up for a forum account here, that you actually email the confirmation code in less time than the software times out. Just sayin'.
