Local channels when traveling
I've read quite a few questions and answers about this topic, but none of it seems to work. I have an iPhone 15Pro and Directv Streaming. When sitting at home, I can watch anything I want on my phone, including my local channels (CBS, NBC, FOX, etc). When I travel to Fayetteville, AR, all I can watch are channels that are generally considered 'national' channels like ESPN, HGTV, etc. The guide won't list my local channels when in AR. There is some advice out there to do something with the red button on the remote. There is no remote with Streaming. It also mentions messing with the "location services" setting on the iPhone. It location services aren't turned on, the Directv app won't work. So I can't turn that off. I also read that I could log into my Directv account (via my laptop, for example) and change my billing address to an address in Fayetteville. But it only allows you to do that four times a year. That sounds far-fetched to me. I would think the billing address and the location address would have to be the same for the credit card auto pay to process correctly. And I'm not sure if I can use my laptop to hook to a TV while traveling to Fayetteville and stream locals. I would think it would be the same issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Interesting. Does DirecTV Stream provide those local stations? When travel, my iOS devices will receive the local stations at our physical location.

Same here. Are you a DirecTV or DirecTV Stream subscriber? The 2 are different paid subscription services. If your device has GPS or location services, you should receive the travelling location locals (if available and the stations are supported by DirecTV). If your devices do not have GPS or location services, your home based locals are the default. That has been the way it works for me for years. Apple products, tablets, phones, and PC have location services and should receive the local travelling locals. Fire sticks, Roku, do not have location services.

In response to litzdog911 - yes, I get my local channels when at home on my iphone.
In response to bcbsncjlj - stream customer. Perhaps the Fayetteville TV networks don't play well with Directv, but I think that would be quite rare these days. Everyone streams, Directv is a big player and I can't image the local residents of Fayetteville would tolerate the lack of local stations.
I would be happy to just get my OWN local stations when in Fayetteville, I don't care about Fayetteville stations. In other words, I want to watch the nationally broadcast football games when in Fayetteville.

Just because DirecTV is a big player doesn't mean DIRECTV STREAM has the same carriage agreements with local channels. They are two different providers, even though under the same owner.
Side note, not everyone streams through many (perhaps majority at this point) do but not all. Some people don't have good enough internet, if internet at all, to support streaming. Don't let the newest technology blind to the fact not everyone can use it to the level you can.

@gregbeck You say "stream customer", but is your subscription "DirecTV Via Internet" or "DirecTV Stream"? They are not the same! DirecTV Via Internet has a contract and fees, where DirecTV Stream has no contract or fees.
