DirecTV Stream - Record new episodes on one channel only

I have several shows I record that new seasons are currently showing on the main broadcast stations - CBS, NBC, ABC, or Fox - but also old seasons have been picked up by other cable channels. I have the series scheduled to record new episodes only, but it is still recording the old seasons on the other cable channels as "new episodes." How do I set a series to record only on one channel?

Hello there. If you want to record only on one channel, you'll have the option to cancel the series. Please, follow the next steps:
Press Home, scroll to the right to highlight Search and press OK.
Using the onscreen keyboard, begin to type in the program name, and programs begin to display.
Once the desired program is displayed, press the arrow keys to highlight the program.
Press More Info.
Select Cancel Recording or Cancel Series Recording and press OK.
A confirmation screen is displayed.
The option to record the program or series is again available.
Press Exit to return to live TV.
That way, you can manage on what channel to have your series recorded. Let me know how it goes, and we'll be glad to keep helping you. Maria, DIRECTV Social Media Specialist

When I followed the steps to cancel the series, it canceled all the upcoming recordings on all channels. I then went back in and scheduled the series to record on CBS. After selecting to record New Episodes Only, I received a notification that new episodes of the show on all channels I'm subscribed to would be recorded. I went into My Library, Upcoming Recordings, and saw that the show was being recorded on CBS and NewsNation. The ones on NewsNation are old episodes from previous seasons that are "new" to the NewsNation channel.

I tried this with another show that is currently airing new episodes on ABC. I selected to record New Episodes only, and received the same confirmation notice. On checking in My Library, Upcoming Recordings, the show was being recorded on ABC and CMT. Again, the ones on CMT are old episodes from past seasons and only "new" on CMT.

This is a huge problem. These cable channels are showing up to 12 episodes a day and quickly fill up your max recording allowance. If I want to record only on one channel, do I have to go into the Guide and select Record on each individual episode and not choose to record the Series?
