DirecTV did not pull your CBS channel.  The channel owner, Tegna did.  If you want to complain to someone, complain to Tegna and what they are wanting to charge DirecTV to carry their channels.  DirecTV went to Tegna with an idea to avoid this from happening.  They offered to let Tegna be an a-la-carte channel and Tegna could charge consumers whatever they wanted to, but of course, Tegna said no to that.

I'm complaining to Direct TV because it is their decision to not work with Tegna. I am forced to use Direct TV because I'm with Frontier. I am forced to go to Paramount Plus and pay their monthly fee and upgrade just to watch specific CBS shows when I already pay Direct TV and Frontier. A $10 credit means nothing for the inconvenience. It's all a racket and its a very greedy way to punish consumers for just wanting to watch television.

@Danutek Actually no, it was not their decision to not work with Tegna.  They tried.  They offered an alternative solution and Tegna said no and walked away.  And DirecTV didnt drop the channel, Tegna pulled it.  Either way, we as consumers are going to get screwed.  Just like after this crap with Nextstar was settled, we ended up paying more.   And eventually the same thing is going to happen again when this crap with Tegna gets settled.  These companies (Tegna, Nextstar, etc) keep asking for RIDICULOUS fees from DirecTV, Charter, etc.  A simple Google search will tell you exactly what Tegna is asking for and Wht DirecTV is balking at it.

I gather then that as a consumer, I will need to drop Direct TV and therefore drop Frontier and go to YOUTUBE or some other streaming service. It's not worth it anymore to deal with these companies. It's pointless to fight TEGNA also - You are correct in that we as consumers are and will be screwed and will continue to be screwed as the media companies will control everything - greedy monsters that they are! Thanks for the information.

@Danutek You don't think YouTube TV, Hulu, etc, etc etc has these issues also?  Because they do.

I get it - it's all about Tegna and its power and greed as a powerful media company!  It's a sad day for the lone, small time consumer who just wants to watch "TV"! Makes we want to think about throwing out my TV and computer and live only in my small world community dependent upon person to person communication.

Right now I am so disgusted that I can’t get a local channel, and the solution is pay more money to a streaming company like Paramount. I have an aunt who is bedridden and unable to watch her soap operas on CBS,  which is something that she hasn’t been able to do. Another greedy corporation that doesn’t care about the everyday person.

I've just read a lot of these back and forth comments and I agree with the customers, as I am one too, of course and very frustrated with this whole "negotiation" situation. This is ridiculous, yall need to come to an agreement already before yall start loosing a whole lot of customers. Some of us that live in rural areas, like my family, only have one news channel and it just happens to be CBS. So yea, it kinda is life dependent for us but thats fine, if yall don't want our money, we'll go to streaming services and just cancel you all together. At least they'll keep working.

Cost are going to increase regardless, no matter what. Even of Tenga does make a deal with Directv, it'll still end up costing us more in the end. They'll always be some reason to increase the bill, cause it's all about money, not satisfying the customer. And do you not realize some areas are not allowed to use antennas, that went out years ago?! Also, in the rural areas, antennas (Edited per community guidelines)! I'm in the middle of the country area and yea I rely on the news, especially if the weather is going to be bad. I'm not going to apologize for wanting to keep my family safe but yall don't care, that's obvious.

@Hammett80 Communities (HOA’s, etc) are not allowed to restrict the use of external antennas. I believe it’s called the Over the Air Reception Device Rule.
