Samsung TV remote
I just subscribed to DirecTV Stream and loaded the app on my Samsung smart tv. The problem is the Samsung remote does not do a good job of navigating the app. Example, the guide button doesn't bring up the guide, etc.

I suggest you go with an external streaming device to use the service. The devices are more powerful and support more apps. They also get more frequent updates. At some point, the TV makers just quit supporting in lieu of selling newer TV's (their business).

I used to have a Samsung TV and the buttons on the Samsung remote don't work that way. If you want a remote with a guide, channels buttons that work like that get a Gemini box or Gemini Air. You can also find the box on Ebay and Amazon. That remote has channel number buttons, guide button etc
