IS MY GEMINI DEVICE FAILING? CAN I STREAM DTV ON MY LAPTOP IF THE GEMINI BOX IS NOT FUNCTIONING?

Having problems with a laterally stretched out Picture and later no sound, I recycled the box but the problems persisted. Eventually I found that the power light on the device was off, but repeated reactivation's follow the same pattern: blue light for a while, then no power. I unplugged the power to the box for 30 seconds and reconnected it, no dice. I then disconnected the device for 10 minutes from the TV, and so far it's been on for 15 minutes, with no picture or sound problems. Are these symptoms of a failing box?

While I was dealing with all that and had the Gemini unplugged from the TV, I tried to watch DTV on my laptop with a hardwire connection to the TV.  The homepage came up, but clicking on live or recorded shows would not work. This was puzzling since I have watched DTV in an airport lounge, etc. away from any DT device.

May I suggest that you be more specific when you say that you want me to get in touch with your specialist?  Where do I click, on the "Ask a specialist" button and just copy and paste my post that you're responding to?  I'll try that now, but others may be similarly confused.

They did say they were sending you a private message.

A couple icons over from your profile picture will be a text box/bubble (between the DirecTV website link and the Bell icon for notifications). It may not show until the first message is sent to you. Those are Direct/Private Messages (DM/PM) between individuals.
