If you purchase the Gemini Air for DIRECTV STREAM, there is no monthly cost for the box itself. Still have to pay for your monthly service of course. This is the bring your own device (BYOD) model so can also use a Roku, Firestick etc. depending on your preference.
With DirecTV via Internet, that is a billing model similar to traditional DirecTV (satellite). You are provided the box from DirecTV, pay the monthly authorized fee for it along with your service, and have a 24 month service agreement.
