Feature Request: Native DIRECTV App for Xbox and PlayStation Consoles

Hi DIRECTV Team and Community,

I’m writing to request that DIRECTV prioritize developing a native streaming app for gaming consoles, specifically Xbox (Series X|S / Xbox One) and PlayStation (PS5 / PS4).

For many subscribers, a gaming console isn't just for games—it serves as the primary media and entertainment hub connected to our main setups, gaming monitors, or secondary rooms. Almost every major live TV and streaming competitor (YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Peacock, Paramount+, Netflix, Prime Video) offers a dedicated console app.

Currently, the lack of a native console app creates unnecessary friction:

 Input Switching & Clutter: Having to switch HDMI inputs to an external streaming dongle or rely on clunky TV OS interfaces just to catch a game or live broadcast when the console is already powered on.

 Monitor/Desk Setups: Users playing on monitors without built-in smart TV platforms or extra HDMI ports miss out on using their subscription in those spaces.

 Feature Parity: Modern consoles have more than enough processing power to handle the DIRECTV guide, high-bitrate live video, and Cloud DVR playback smoothly.

Bringing the DIRECTV app to the Xbox and PlayStation digital storefronts would close a major device-availability gap and provide significant value to a large portion of your subscriber base.

Is a console app currently on the product roadmap, or can this feedback be escalated to the app development team? Would love to hear if other community members are looking for this as well.
