You'll find many good YouTube videos comparing the various DirecTV Streaming devices. The main benefit of the DirecTV Stream box is that the remote is most like their satellite equipment, including the ability to directly enter a channel number. Other streaming devices can't do that.
Watch out for that changing IP address with Starlink. Been a lot of issues with users losing locals due to the dynamic address changing. Same with T-Mobile and others.
I use a Gemini box, Apple TV, and Gemeni Air. I would say the picture on the Apple TV is the best of the 3, but the Air is close when the HDR is shut off.
Is there a way to stream DIRECTV on APPLE TV w/o DIRECTV programming doing auto shutoff after a few hours? —>CNN is on for my learned Pug when I am out and about. I came home today and saw the TV shut off and he was already reverting to his old ways.

vacation home we use DirecTV app and can stream to iPads and iPhones no problem. However, we recently decided to connect an Apple TV 4K to our tv, downloaded the DirecTV app but it will not work. After we login, a Blank screen appears.
QUESTION is streaming to an Apple TV 4K device supposed to work? Or am I supposed to add streaming package?

No issues. Just looking to get rid of my dish and move to streaming.
Also I'm on Starlink for internet. Too many Satellite dishes around my house.
Just wanted thoughts on using Apple TV box vs. Direct Tv boxes. Just doing my due diligence. Any thoughts or advice would be welcome.

Just download the CNN app (or any supported app) and use your DirecTV Stream credentials.
