Can I run the Directv Stream box through my A/V Receiver?
I'd like to run my Directv Stream box through my Yamaha receiver in order to take advantage of our surround sound, but when I do that, the picture on the TV takes several minutes to appear, and then it comes and goes (picture, then black screen for a bit, then picture, then black screen.) Does anyone have any suggestions? Our Samsung TV is about 6-7 years old.

How have you connected? It should be as easy as DirecTV Stream box HDMI OUT to AV Receiver HDMI IN, and AV Reciever HDMI OUT to TV's HDMI IN.

That's exactly how I have it (and how I did it with Xfinity with no problems). But with Directv Stream box, it's awful. The picture just keeps blacking in and out. We even exchanged the box for a new one, but we have the same problem.

Have you tried a different HDMI cable?
Any video resolution settings on your AV Receiver or TV that you can try changing?

Everything works great except when I change volume the screen blacks out for 5 to 10 seconds.

I’m having a different issue that started about 1-month ago. I currently have the Directv box connected to my Yamaha RX-A720 AV receiver and from there to my Samsung TV. It was working fine for 3-years until about a month ago. Now the Gemini remove won’t turn on or off the TV and AVR. It only turns on the Directv box. In addition, the Gemni remote used to adjust the volume, now it doesn’t. I have to continually reprogram the Directv box that I’m using the Yamaha for a speaker system. That works while the system is on, but once I turn it off, the Yamaha configuration is erased and I have to re-enter it manually the next time I want to watch tv.
Any thoughts??? Thanks

I too have the same issue where the remote does not control any audio device that it did control previously. Audio devices was replace by Soundbar in menu. I would think many of us don't use soundbars and would love to have "Audio Devices".
